MRI Complete
The MRI came off without a hitch.
They even gave Sherry a copy of it on CD.
She sees the doc Monday to get the results.

Back in Houston
We returned to Houston, driving through the night.
We're still trying to get a new MRI scheduled.

Safe in Fort Worth
Everything is on hold.
We left Houston and spent 9 1/2 hours with 2 million of our close friends on the freeway to Fort Worth. The first 4 hours and 20 minutes took us all of 44 miles, where we stopped to eat (we were their last customers before they closed for the hurricane).
We are safe in Fort Worth now, waiting to see how soon we can rush (ha!) back to Houston.
Sherry still needs that MRI to get confirmation that she is well, but we don't know when that will happen.

Frustrating day...still no MRI
It started out ominously--a letter from the insurance company informed us yesterday that Sherry was pre-certified for a CT scan instead of an MRI as was scheduled for today. A couple of phone calls later, and just in time for her to leave, they cleared it up.
She won't quite say she's afraid of MRIs, but they make her feel claustrophobic and anxious. This one wasn't going well, and after several rounds of "breathe in, out, in, out, now hold it!", Sherry had some pain in her chest. The MRI techs over-reacted and hustled her over to the ER. She spent the afternoon getting more tests (and waiting, of course) before they finally decided she wasn't having a heart attack after all.
It was after 6 pm before she was able to go back for the MRI, and then they wouldn't take her.
So after spending the day in various parts of the hospital, mostly in some level of distress, nothing was accomplished. They said the portions of an MRI they got would have to be re-done.
Tomorrow she'll try to reschedule.

Pain in the ... back
Sherry had blood tests and a "core drill" into the back of her pelvis today. The procedure was required to extract a sample of her bone marrow for testing. We want that test to come out negative, which means no evidence of cancer is present. We don't know why they wanted a sample of the bone, but they got it. She was a little surprised (and relieved) that they only did one side, not both like they did last time.
Next will be an MRI-- really two MRIs; one with "contrast" and one without. The contrast material is injected intravenously.
After that, we should get the results from her hematologist on Monday.
In the meantime, her backside hurts. I'm going now to fix her some soup and get a pain pill.

Continuing better
Sherry is getting just a little stronger every day, it seems.
More shots to boost her white and red blood cells are coming as needed.
She will have tests soon: an analysis of her bone marrow (they punch a small hole in the pelvis and extract some fluid) on 9/13 and a pretty comprehensive MRI on 9/15. She sees the hematologist a week later on 9/22 to discuss the results. We're hoping to hear that she's in full remission.
She feels fine, but tires easily.
Her fingers and legs are slowly recovering the feeling she lost as a neurological effect of the chemotherapy. She's walking pretty well, but not quickly.
