Moving forward again

The culture indicates that the antibiotic is working. Instead of sending Sherry home today, though, the doctor decided to have her stay another exciting night, so they can install a PICC line first thing in the morning, that is, if they don't have an emergency that pushes her time back. It's apparently a lengthy process having a tube pushed up inside your arm and down toward your heart. I was surprised this is done with no sedation. If it were me, I'd at least want someone to stomp on my foot first.
So the plan now is to have the PICC line installed Tuesday and administer Rituxan Wednesday. That pushes the chemo to Thursday and the 48-hour pump installed too late to have it removed before the weekend, so she'll have the pump attached until Monday morning.
Then she gets a shot Monday, and her bad week follows into the weekend.
Sometime after that, tests will be scheduled to see how thoroughly this has destroyed the tumor.
